Korean protest in Japan
March 03, 2007
North Koreans demonstrate in Japan as diplomats prepare for talks in New York to try and normalise relations. Japan's Kyodo news agency said about 1,500 police officers stood guard by the rally as right-wing groups taunted the demonstrators with anti-North Korean slogans. There were no reports of violence. Meanwhile, North Korea's envoy arrived in New York for further talks aimed at dismantling the country's nuclear programme, dropping sanctions and sending aid.
