London gets Polish radio
November 14, 2007
Polskie Radio Londyn, or PRL24, is the first Polish radio station in Britain to broadcast over the air as well as on the internet. British government figures released in May say some 400,000 Poles have come to find work and higher wages in Britain since Poland joined the European Union in 2004, but the Polish community estimate that number could be as high as 1 million. PRL24 is part of a business run by Poles based in Britain, which includes a magazine in Polish.Joanna Partridge reports for Reuters
