Bogota locks down for Bush
March 11, 2007
Colombia's capital goes onto security high alert in readiness for a visit from U.S. President George W. Bush. Guns and drink have been banned while sharp shooters are being posted on roof tops. Checkpoints have been set up all over the city in readiness for a seven hour visit from the American president. Colombia is Washington's closest ally in Latin America. It's been engaged in a 4-decades-old war and officials have said that the largest rebel group, the FARC, was planning an attack.
