Botswana beats back the AIDS virus

Botswana was once the country worst afflicted by HIV-AIDS virus. Due to a concerted effort led by President Festus Mogae, the government has succeeded in lowering the infection rate and number of AIDS deaths. Botswana was the first African nation to provide anti-retroviral treatment free of charge. But the stigma of carrying the HIV disease is still strong and people are unwilling to get tested.
