With important Christmas trade underway, some of the economic signs are good, with the labour market continuing to improve in Europe's largest economy, and an unexpected rise in business sentiment.But latest numbers show retail sales are down sharply as consumers worry about the rising cost of food and energy, so traders are keeping their fingers crossed for the festive season.
