Diamonds are Botswana's best friend

Over the past 25 years, diamonds have propelled Botswana from a poor landlocked African state to a middle-income nation. The precious stones make up 70 percent of Botswana's foreign earnings, 50 percent of revenue and 33 percent of GDP but they have not created a huge number of jobs. That is about change as the Debswana diamond company moves its diamond sorting and valuing operations from London back home to Botswana. An AFPTV voiced report.
