Transatlantic air pact takes off
March 22, 2007
European Union transport ministers unanimously back a landmark agreement with the United States to throw open transatlantic air travel to more competition and drive down fares. The pact was agreed after four years of talks. It will allow any EU airline to fly from any city in the 27-nation bloc to any city in the United States and vice versa.
