Asia rallies, dollar rebounds

Most Asian shares recovered on Thursday amid ongoing fears about a recession in the U.S and the extent of a fallout from the subprime mortgage crisis. But commodities extended sharp declines while gold retreated further from a record high hit earlier in the week.
