At a therapeutic feeding centre, Beckham met children devastated by severe malnutrition. Twenty-five children are treated each month and each one has a tough story. Nearly 9.7 million children die each year before their fifth birthday from diseases from pneumonia to malaria, but the U.N. Children's Fund (UNICEF) says simple affordable measures could save more lives.
