Senate votes for troop withdrawal by '08

The US Senate voted in favor of setting of goal of bringing US troops home from Iraq by 2008. The Senate approved the bill by a vote of 51-47. It would require the president to begin troop withdrawals within four months and try to complete it by March 31, 2008. The initiative was attached to a $122 billion funding bill for wars in Iraq and Afghanistan.
