Mercury surprises NASA

The Mercury Surface, Space Environment, Geochemistry and Ranging probe - or MESSENGER - took 1,213 images, which scientists said show that the planet is a lot less like the earth's moon than many previously thought. Only 45% of Mercury's surface had previously been mapped. MESSENGER covered a further 30% of the planet's surface.
