Pro-West Tadic wins Serbian vote

Tadic achieved the narrowest of wins against nationalist challenger Tomislav Nikolic but the vote will determine Serbia's future ties with the European Union. Tadic wants Serbia to join the EU while Nikolic wanted to strengthen ties with Russia. The southernmost province of Serbia, Kosovo, is expected to become independent soon - a move neither supports.
