Gazprom to tap giant gas field

Gazprom has set up a joint operating company to develop Shtokman's first stage with France's Total and Norway's StatoilHydro. The venture could supply the United States and Europe with natural gas for decades to come. Pipeline gas exports will begin in 2013, with liquefied natural gas shipments starting a year later.
