Can the sun really destroy earth?

Danny Boyle is known for his hip, stylistic movies like Trainspotting, 28 Days Later and The Beach. Now the Scottish film director is uncovering a new frontier with his new scientific thriller Sunshine. It follows the story that the sun is torn and it's up to ever helpful humans to patch it up. But is this real and can this really happen? Reuters reporter Mike Davidson went to the European Organization for Nuclear Research or CERN, to discover the truth. Sunshine opened number four in the UK box office charts over the weekend and took in 1.29 million British pounds, approximately 2.6 million U.S. dollars.
