Giant squid on show in Paris

Wheke, a giant squid six metres long, was caught off the New Zealand coast in 2000. Using a new method, scientists dehydrated and then plastic-coated the animal, preserving it in a state close to what it looked like when alive. It took 65,000 euros and two-and-a-half years of work.
