Mercy mission for Colombian hostage on standby in Bogota
April 04, 2008
The wait goes on in Colombia for a access to be granted by FARC rebels to a mercy mission to help a high-profile French-Colombian hostage said to be gravely ill from six long years of jungle captivity. Ingrid Betancourt was snatched by the rebels as she campaigned for the Colombian presidency in February 2002. Colombian FARC rebels have ruled out a unilateral release of hostages. An AFPTV report.
