Getting Plants To Grow Under Trees

For a moment I want you to picture trees in a forest. Ok, got it? Now think about the ground under those trees. Is there a huge expanse of lawn coming right up to the edge of the trunks? Most likely you would answer no. Now picture your own yard. How many of your trees have lawn underneath them? How many times have you tried to get grass to grow under a tree?
