Israel approves prisoner swap

Israel's cabinet has approved a prisoner swap with the Lebanese militant group Hezbollah. The exchange involves the return of two Israeli soldiers captured by Hezbollah almost two years ago and who are now believed to be dead. In return, Israel will release five jailed Lebanese guerrillas and at a later stage an undisclosed number of Palestinian prisoners. The remains of dozens of dead infiltrators and militants would also be handed over.
