Extremes of weather worldwide
April 19, 2007
In Argentina, a freak storm brought Buenos Aires to a halt as streets flooded, trees crashed down on cars and transport services collapsed. In southern Colombia, around 5,000 people were evacuated after a volcanic eruption triggered an avalanche that swelled rivers and threatened local communities. And in Taiwan a tornado ripped through a southern county damaging over 100 buildings, but no casualties are reported.
