Ranks of troubled US banks growing

117 American banks are on an updated regulatory watch list as the credit crisis shows no sign of abating. The report came days after Kansas-based Columbian Bank and Trust became the ninth bank this year to be overtaken by the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation, better known as the FDIC.
