Geisha dance in Kyoto

Geisha are the subject of books and movies, but in Kyoto about 30 still perform dances for visitors. April performances of Miyako Odori, "the dance of the capital", have been held annually since 1872, including during the war.The dance and synchronized music depict Japan's changing seasons, using the symbols of apricots, cherry blossoms, leaves and snow.
