Warding off epidemics in Iraq

In the midst of the unending series of disasters which have befallen Iraq in the four years since the US invasion, the country has at least been spared an epidemic. This week, Iraqi health workers are battling to ensure things stay that way. In coordination with the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) they have launched a large-scale immunization drive to protect 3.9 million infants with the MMR vaccine against measles, mumps and rubella.
