Monsoon hits Thailand

At least 13 people have been killed as widespread flooding continues to destroy hundreds of homes in the country's northern provinces. Thousands of people have been evacuated from their homes and the authorities are desperately building defences in a bid to redirect high tides. Around two million people have been affected by the monsoon.
