New images from Mars

NASA chose the Victoria crater two years ago as the long-term destination for Mars Rover Opportunity.Opportunity and its twin rover Spirit landed on Mars about almost two years back. In the last 21 months Opportunity has covered about 6 miles of terrain.Together, Opportunity and Spirit have taken apporximately 160,000 pictures.The images show the one-half-mile-wide crater has scalloped edges of alternating cliff-like high, jutting ledges and gentler alcoves.
