Desmund Tutu's 75th birthday
October 08, 2006
He was once described by Zimbabwe's Robert Mugabe as angry, evil and embittered, but to South Africans Desmond Tutu is regarded as the nation's conscience. The Archbishop granted the respect of many during the 1980s as an opponent of apartheid. At a ceremony, where he was guest of honour, tributes were made by several guests including the former President, Nelson Mandela.
