Kofi Annan's successor?

South Korean Foreign Minister Ban Ki-Moon looks certain to succeed Kofi Annan as UN Secretary General. The 62-year-old won the unanimous support from the five permanent members of the Security Council in the latest straw poll, making his selection practically assured. The formal vote takes place on October 9th after which the UN General Assembly must approve the Council's recommendation.
