Thai Army Chief addresses TV

The armed forces have dismissed the government and revoked the constitution after taking control of Bangkok without a shot being fired. Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra who is in the United States for a UN summit, has declared a state of emergency. The Thai army has now declared martial law to the surprise of Thais and street opposition.
