Polar bear Knut's keeper dies

A German zookeeper who lovingly raised celebrity polar cub Knut at Berlin zoo has died of a heart attack aged 44. Berlin police said Thomas Doerflein was found dead in his apartment in a western district of Berlin near the zoo. Doerflein shot to fame and gained scores of female fans when he hand-reared Knut after he was rejected by his mother.
