Wong Kar Wai presents premiere film

A movie by one of Asia's hottest directors opened the 60th Cannes film festival Wednesday, launching a frenzied 12-day cinema extravaganza featuring top Hollywood stars. "My Blueberry Nights", about a girl's heartbroken travels across the United States by Hong Kong's Wong Kar Wai, kicked off the race for the Palme d'Or. It is one of 22 films competing for the prestigious prize, which will be chosen by a jury headed by British director Stephen Frears. Images and soundbites of the press conference introducing Wong's movie which premiered in Cannes.
