al Qaeda arrests near EU summit

Brussels police say they may have foiled a plot to attack the European Union summit later this week. They've detained 14 people suspected of links with al Qaeda, including three feared to have been planning an attack in the country. The local broadcaster RTBF quoted unnamed justice sources as saying the target of the suspected attack could have been the two-day European Union leaders' summit taking place in Brussels.
