Afghan suicide bomb kills many

The Taliban says it carried a suicide bombing in a crowded market in southeastern Afghanistan. Foreign troops were among the casualties of the suicide attack on a crowded market in southeastern Afghanistan. The Taliban has stepped up its attacks against western forces and their Afghan allies since the death of the insurgents' top operational commander, Mullah Dadullah, in a U.S.-led coalition raid last weekend. On Saturday, three German soldiers were among nine people killed by a suicide bomber in a busy market in the relatively quiet northern city of Kunduz.
