Bolivia's brutal prison protest

The violent demonstration, including acts of self-mutilation, comes just days after the inmates in nine prisons across Bolivia began a hunger strike to draw attention to their demands. The want the minimum drug trafficking jail time to be lowered from 25 years to 15 years. Some eight thousand inmates are current being held in Bolivian jails on drug charges, and 78 percent of them are still waiting to be sentenced.
