Rights group points finger

Amnesty International says the politics of fear is fueling divisions around the globe. The 2007 dossier from pressure group Amnesty International says governments and armed groups are deliberately fuelling fear in order to erode human rights and create an increasingly polarised world. The human rights update chronicles a catalogue of abuses from the prosecution of writers in Turkey to the killing of left-wing activists in the Philippines and soaring violence in Brazil. Amnesty boasts over two million members in more than 150 countries.
