Family dog kills 5 year-old girl

Under Britain's Dangerous Dogs Act, owners of pure-bred pit bull terriers can be held responsible for their pet's actions. Four dog breeds are banned in Britain unless their owners have explicit permission to keep them and keep them muzzled in public -- the American pit-bull terrier; the dogo argentinos, the Japanese tosa, and the Brazilian mastiff.
