Crunch hits car industry workers

Vehicle and parts makers are feeling the pinch of the global economic crisis amid plunging sales. Car manufacturing and ancillary industries -- in Europe as elsewhere -- are among the first to feel the real squeeze as sales fall in the grip of the global economic crisis. Jobs are already being cut as a result while some dealers have even offered buy-one-get-one-free deals in a desperate effort to shift stock.
