Conjoined twins separated
May 30, 2007
An Indian hospital has successfully separated 10-month-old twins joined from the chest to the stomach. The liver of one boy was joined to the other's pericardium (the sac containing the heart). Ram and Laxman, the conjoined twins named after Hindu mythological characters, had been under the supervision of doctors at the Ambedkar Hospital in Raipur city, capital of central Chhattisgarh state for the past ten months.
