U.S. opens new Baghdad embassy

The event is intended to symbolise the transition of the U.S. from occupier to ally of the Iraqi government. The 592 million dollar complex is the largest U.S. embassy in the world into which American diplomats have been moving over recent weeks as they leave the sprawling palace they had been using since the fall of Iraqi leader Saddam Hussein in 2003.
