Gas boom threatens indigenous in Russian far east

On the northeastern shores of Sakhalin Island, a culture is facing extinction. The Nivkhs, a small indigenous ethnic group, have survived for centuries in this harsh climate, hunting and fishing, but today massive offshore oil and gas projects have eroded fish stocks, posing a threat to their traditional way of life.
