African textiles get Paris couture recrafting

They're a signature style of traditional African fashion, but the famed Dutch wax textiles are now getting a contemporary remake by designers from the continent and diaspora. Industry leader Vlisco, which has been importing its Dutch-made prints to Africa for more than 150 years, has sponsored collections by young fashion designers which take the colored prints into the realm of couture.
