BEVERLY HILLS, CALIFORNIA - Friday June 5 2009. Lisa Ling talking on Friday June 5 2009 before hearing that her sister, journalist Laura Ling, had been sentenced to 12 years labor in North Korea along with co-journalist Euna Lee. The Korean Central News Agency said on Monday that the women were convicted for the "grave crime they committed against the Korean nation and their illegal border crossing. (The court) sentenced each of them to 12 years of reform through labor". Laura and Euna had been working for Al Gore's California-based Current TV when they were detained.
