Bloody trail leads to Guinea Bissau elections
June 25, 2009
Guinea-Bissau is quietly going through the motions of a presidential election campaign despite a recent spate of political assassinations. The vote itself follows the slaying of the country's longtime president, Joao Bernardo Vieira, in March, which came on the heels of the murder of the army chief.
