Vacation island welcomes Obama

After a brutal seven months facing economic blight, rising trouble abroad and fighting for an increasingly under-fire agenda, US President Barack Obama began a week-long family vacation at the mansion he is renting on Martha's Vineyard, an island off the east coast of the US.
