Sector Wrap: Basic Materials, Gold, Airlines

Optimism over the economic recovery continues to push the markets higher this week as the Dow has climbed more than three and a half percent so far and the S&P 500 and Nasdaq are both showing gains in excess of four percent. News out of Australia early Monday morning was reporting the Australian Central Bank had raised interest rates, further enforcing the belief of many investors that the global economy was indeed recovering.
