Foreclosures Up 5% in Third Quarter

This morning RealtyTrac released its US Foreclosure Market Report for the third quarter of 2009. According to the report, foreclosure filings which include default notices, scheduled auctions and bank repossessions, were reported on 937,840 properties in the third quarter, a 5 percent increase from the previous quarter and an increase of nearly 23 percent from the third quarter of 2008.
