South Africa unveils Soccer City

The Soweto township is synonymous with apartheid. South Africa hopes that from next year, it will be associated with football. The design of the stadium built at the so-called Soccer City is inspired by the calabash, an African cooking pot. The 89,000-seater will host the opening and final matches of next year's World Cup.
