American Water Works Profits Rise

Vorhees, NJ-based utility American Water Works (AWK) announced that third quarter profits increased, despite the cooler and wetter weather this summer, as the company increased its rates. Profits for the fiscal third quarter increased 4 percent to $91.6 million, or 52 cents per share versus the same quarter last year.
