Kroger Swings to a Q3 Loss

Kroger posted a loss for its fiscal third quarter today, of $874.9 million, or $1.35 per share, as compared to a gain of $238 million, or 36 cents per share, in the same quarter last year. Kroger took a big charge in the quarter due to write-downs at its Ralph's stores.
