The world's first international ice chess game takes place in Trafalgar Square via live satellite link-up with Pushkin Square... Just as most parts of Europe, Russia's capital Moscow is witnessing one of the mildest winters in decades. Former Russian World Chess champion Anatoly Karpov will lead a Russian team playing with chess pieces carved out of ice as they compete against a London team led by English chess grandmaster Nigel Short.
