There are only about 24,000 of about the 54 million elementary and secondary school children in the United States are studying Chinese. China's booming economy coupled with studies showing the younger a person is the easier it is to learn a language are leading to Chinese language classes for preschoolers popping up across the country from Oregon to Michigan to Washington, D.C.
