Centennial celebrations dampened
June 16, 2007
A car buried in Oklahoma in 1957 as a time capsule to mark the state's 50th anniversary has proved to be a bit of a disappointment. For five decades the car had been encased in a concrete vault strong enough, it was thought, to withstand a nuclear attack. So, organisers weren't prepared for a waterlogged capsule which had turned a dream car to rust.
